Comfortable accommodation & home-cooked food
Students at Coláiste Uí Chadhain stay with local families in the Inverin area, where they are welcomed into high-quality homes, all of which are inspected by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media. Each student is cared for by a Bean an Tí (house mother), who provides delicious home-cooked meals and a warm environment where Irish is spoken naturally. This immersion in daily Irish life helps students practice their language skills in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Support and Guidance Every Step of the Way
We know that for many students, this may be their first time away from home. That’s why we have a team of cinnirí (student mentors) who are especially helpful to younger and first-time students. Our dedicated staff—including the principal, teachers, assistants, and hosts—ensure that each child is supervised and supported at all times, providing parents with peace of mind that their child is in safe hands.
Fun and Cultural Exploration in the Gaeltacht
Our summer courses go beyond classroom learning. Students get to experience the rich culture of the Connemara region through organized tours and activities, including optional trips to the beautiful Aran Islands and excursions around the stunning landscapes of Connemara. These trips offer a unique opportunity for students to see the places they’ve read about in their textbooks, all while using their Irish in real-world settings.
Personalized Attention and Small Class Sizes
With a maximum of 100 students per course, we pride ourselves on creating an intimate learning environment where everyone gets to know each other. This small class size, coupled with a low student-to-staff ratio of approximately 12:1, allows our highly qualified teachers to focus on each individual student’s progress. Our staff are not only experienced in teaching Irish, but they are passionate about helping each student feel supported and encouraged throughout their stay.
